If you still do not have enough contrasting edges in the image, you can repeat the “Find edges”
action until you have reached the desired setting. You will soon see a real change. |

Because you want to have a smooth transition between the white and the black areas of the picture at this point, you
will have to blur the image so to hide the actual sharpening of the edges. You can use a Gaussian blur to achieve this (Filter->Blur->
Gaussian Blur). |

Select a small amount of blur so that only the margins are blended in a way pleasant to the eye. For example, you can
use a value of between 2 and 4 pixels. |
