17) The above tips are, most of the times, all the necessary adjustments needed to bring more contrast to a picture. But you may also be interested in some more advanced techniques referring to the Levels setting in Photoshop. Imagine you have finished editing a picture, level-wise, but you have changed your mind and want to go back. Most of the times you have the undo option available, but some changes might not be undo-able. You may want in this case to keep your Levels settings as live adjustments to which you can return at any time, just as you have left them. You can achieve this using the Adjustment Layers in Photoshop.
 
18) There are many ways to create a layer in Photoshop. The most common path is Layer > New Adjustment Layer as shown in figure 19. Chose levels from the Adjustment Layer list.

19) Give a name to the newly created level in the “name” tag just as shown in figure 20.
