Step 19
Be sure to have the “Use All Layers” box checked in the layers palette. Select the Healing Brush Tool and hold down the “Alt” key. While pressing the Alt key, move the cursor to an area below the eye. Do not forget to zoom in the preview window to a value of about 300%.

Step 20
Turn your selected area from the step above into the source zone for the Healing Brush Tool by pressing and then releasing the left mouse button. Move the cursor over the wrinkle you want to remove and release the mouse. Your wrinkle should have disappeared. For smaller wrinkles, use a smaller Healing Brush size (a value of around 10 should be enough for small wrinkles close to the eye).

Step 21
You will deal next with removing the wrinkles around the right eye.Create a new layer and name it “Right Wrinkles”. Proceed as with the removal of the wrinkles around the left eye, but be sure to use a different source area, near the right eye.

Step 22
You may not need to perform all these actions on every portrait, as skin can greatly differ from one person to another, but they are included in this tutorial so that you will know how to correct a large array of issues. Let us try removing some blemishes. Select the “Healing Brush Tool” from the tool bar.

Step 23
Add a new layer (click the Create a new Layer icon which you will find in the Layers palette) and rename it “Blemishes”. Look for the size of the blemishes. If the area which needs corrected is small, select the Healing Brush’s size to be a bit larger than the blemish itself. If the area is larger, use a smaller brush. In order to preserve the brightness of the larger area which requires correcting, select a 20% smaller brush than the areas itself.

Step 24
After you have corrected the blemishes from the model’s face, proceed to locking the layer, just like before to avoid any mistakes.
