Do you want to learn how to resize a group of image files at once, instead opening each file and resizing it. Follow the steps shown below:

Go to "Windows" and check "Actions" as shown in figure 1..

Figure 1.

When actions dailog box appears click on to create a new action, when "New Action" dailog box appears enter a name for the action, in this case I have entered "Resize" for the name of the action as shown in figure 2.. Press "Record" button to start recording the action.

Figure 2.

You observe that a new action with "Resize" name has been created as shown in figure 3..

Figure 3.

Now let us begin recording an action by opening an image file and reducing the size by 50%, go to "File->Open" and open an image file. When the image file is open go to "Image->Image Size..." menu as shown in figure 4..

Figure 4.

As soon as you open a file the action would be recorded in the as shown in figure 5.. In the same each actions will be recorded till press button which stops recording further actions.

Figure 5.

When the "Image Size" dailog box appears enter the size of image as 50% as shown in figure 6. . Now use "Save As" command instead of "Save" and save the image and then close it.

Figure 6.

Now click on button to stop recording further actions. You see that all the actions that we did on the image file has been recorded under "Resize" actions as shown in figure 7. .

Figure 7.

We have finished recording the action now let us use the action by resizing a group of images. Go to "File->Automate->Batch" menu as shown in figure 8..

Figure 8.

When "Batch" dailog box appears select the source folder you have kept the images and the destination folder were you want to save the edited image files as shown in figure 9.. Make sure to check both "Override Action "Open" Command" and "Override Actions "Save As" Command".

Figure 9.

That is it we have finished resizing the images with in seconds using customized "Actions". You can see that the images will be reduced to 50% of their original size and will be saved in the destination folder.
